Ours is a secluded rural setting yet only twenty minutes from Nottingham.
It is modern,
self-contained

ground floor accommodation attached to our home
with a spacious living / dining room
all set within our nature-friendly gardens.
Our eco-home..
‘Waxwings Retreat’ is an annex attached to our architect-designed ecohome with its own access.
It has underfloor heating throughout. The cost of heating, water and domestic electricity is included in the tariff.
Our home is highly-insulated with triple-glazed windows, airtight and benefits from an air-circulation system.
Solar panels generate most of our electricity during the year.
Rain water from our cedar shingle roof feeds George’s Pond in the garden and is also collected for our vegetable garden. We use mains water but all waste water and toilet waste is processed on site by our Klargester biodigester - further reducing our environmental impact.
At the time of writing we do not have an EV charger point.
What ‘Waxwings Retreat’ offers…
‘Waxwings Retreat’ accommodation includes a welcoming open-plan lounge with TV, a well-equipped fitted kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave and small dishwasher.
There is an ensuite bathroom with large, walk-in shower. There is an additional hall toilet and a drying room and a washing machine. Guests will benefit from secure gate-code accessed dedicated parking.
Free wireless broadband is available for guests’ use.
All interior accommodation is designed with disabled access in mind.
Please note that our gravel drive and uneven garden paths may be difficult for wheelchair users to access.
Outside there is a covered seated area, a washing line and charcoal-fired barbecue.
There is a variety of seating around the grounds to encourage guests to explore for their enjoyment and comfort. We’ll be delighted to give you a tour!!
Due to the number of unprotected shallow garden ponds this site is unfortunately unsuitable for children.
Ours is a non smoking site.
We cannot accommodate dogs.
